Hey guys I used to play many many moons ago in the earlier AOC realms. Just happened upon this site again and just wanted to touch base and say hello.


I tried age of mythology and never really got into it.

May folks still play AOE 3?

Looking for a good online game to play again. Tried the World of Warcraft thing and got bored with the farming required with it.

Anyway maybe Cue is still around from time to time.

In Atlanta now, got out of my post-doc, went to work for a startup at Georgia Tech that didn't pan out. Nowhere near retirement, though the thought does make me smile.

Man it's been too long. The brotherhood of long in the tooth gamers is a tie that binds. Lol I remember some classic nights of gaming, once where you disappeared because you got a call. Good times.

Yeah I remember one late night game where I had a call, left came back and game was still ongoing. I built back up and we ended up winning. You guys were able to hold them off till I got back.....Good times in deed.

I guess I enjoyed that game more than any other that I have ever played due to the multiplayer aspect of it.

Any games peeking your interest? Im thinking about getting a Play station for online games.

I have an xbox. It's actually a nice little system, but it's mostly for playing NHL or some of those casual games like South Park Tower Defense. That's actually not bad if you have a tapeworm in the house.

What I liked about Age is that once you got into that solid middle level, you could have games that weren't decided in the first ten minutes. And you could have monster comebacks.

BTW SC2 went into a closed beta on Wednesday. Keeping my fingers crossed it's actually a real beta and that they're close to getting a release date nailed down.

I pre-ordered StarCraft 2 from GameStop and got a key to the beta emailed to me. I'm not sure how long the invitations to the beta are going to last, but I'll be installing it in a bit. Come join me!

It's a little confusing but fun! I don't remember or understand the units. Don't know any build orders. I'll make a ton of marines, and they'll get schooled by zerglings. But it's like in Age if you make a bunch of stone age piece of crap ranged units and someone hits you with the counter, you die badly.

Like I said, lots of fun. A little different, I wished their group selection was a little more flexible like Age. But ah well. Micro is really key though. Can't really boom, but then again, I played 1v1. Stupid to try...though I did anyway! Go pre-order and get your beta key. Good low level games are hard to come by.

Sorry to resurrect this post but had to say hi to my buds Steve and Paul. Hey guys...missing those ROR, AOE and AOC days too! Still watching the replays at times. Steve remember when we took on that Dott tourney and lost in the final but beat the L-Clan team on the way? Haha! I remember that 2.5 hour game where you left for your EM call and we had to battle 3v4 for 30 or 40 mins till you got back. Great fun but man were we mad at you at the time, LOL.

I'm still working with Traitor but lost touch with Speed and the many others including Term. Leaky was a hell of a player and a super nice guy. Either of you in-touch with InterestRate (fred) let me know.

Maybe I'll be convinced by Cue to give SC2 a whirl.
